A Spring day at the park

"Maryland, My Maryland" (the official State song)

This past weekend, Eric and I had a visitor from Germany, Astrid, that I've known since high school. In fact, way back when I was a student at Issaquah High School in Issaquah, Washington Astrid and I did an exchange program where she came to live with me in my parents' home in Bellevue, Washington for approximately one month and I went to live with Astrid and her family in Hechingen, Baden-Wurttemburg, Germany.

Since Astrid was in the United States for work in Connecticut, she decided to drive down and visit with Eric and I and the Maryland Sled Dog Adventures' sled dogs. On Saturday we explored Dundee Creek in Maryland by kayak and enjoyed a leisurely dinner at the Dogwood in Baltimore.

On Sunday, we took Sobo and Acadia to Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis, Maryland and let them romp and play in the dog park. We also took a walk through this gorgeous park down to the South River and let the dogs do some wading and swimming at the dog beach. Eric and I were surprised to learn that Acadia actually likes (uncharacteristically so for a Siberian) to swim. After allowing the dogs to run off some energy at the dog park, we took them for a more leisurely stroll through the historic down town area of Annapolis.
